Medium Sized Yew Vase

My very first attempt at a vase made with yew.

Yes it is, not very deep appears to be a few millimeters but add a shadow effect to the heartwood. Never seen it before on yew.

Fantastic first effort John. Yew isn't the easiest of woods to turn and finish without it cracking. You've done a great job

Yew and Laburnum are my favourite woods. This is a nice piece of Yew, what size is it (approx).

What finish have you used? It looks very natural

It is approx 8" high and 3" wide. I did not turn it as thin as I wanted. I was a bit hesitant in case it cracked. Chas there is no finish on it yet but think I may go with Woodys idea of Teak oil or maybe just a couple of coats o sanding sealer.
