I don't think it it would be I'm afraid Mark, no. It may well produce a nice finish, but I haven't ever tried it so I can't comment. However, it's a completely different type of beast in that it's a linseed oil based product which is designed to sink INTO the surface of the wood, much like any other oil based finish such as Danish Oil or Tung Oil (albeit the Kunos has a few more bells and whistles than those two examples) as opposed to melamine, which is a lacquer based product that is designed to sit ON the surface of the wood.

Kunos in the surface finish Melamine so well known for furniture finishing and longevity oils aint oils they all have their uses.
