Good on you and well done. There is something immensely satisfying saving something like this and converting it. The temptation now, to use it prematurely, must be resisted! What thickness have you had it slab bed at?
If you're neighbours decide to fell anything like this again, I know a man with a mobile woodmizer that can slab 15 ton logs in around an hour. £350 a day so make sure it's a biggy and I'll go halves. Great shame the rest of the tree went on the fire, in fact criminal!
