Hi All,

Recently I posted a reply to a thread mentioning that I would like to one day have a Cowell lathe in the shed. Well I didn't think that day would come this soon.

Big Big thanks to Alan (YorkieT) a member here at Penturners.
I met up with Alan at a half way point and this is what I bought.

Brilliant piece of kit. Well done you will have fun with that.
I think you may have 2 sets of gears, one for metric and one for imperial threads. :drool::drool:

Morning Paul I got excited when I saw your response to Allan,s generous offer on the lathe, to learn of the mutual travel and successful conclusion. Love the well in the lathe base to collect lubricants during turning, if you turn aluminium and desire a mirror finish kerosine as a lubricant does the job and is safely contained on your new lathe. My Metal lathe is Imperial with metric gears separate. This is because my lathe has a gear box as well. The milling attachment is valuable I love mine. Collets make accuate and fine threading etc a breeze

All in all the delight of such a lathe I share with you and trust you will enjoy for a long time.

I have a couple of bits that came with the lathe that are a bit of a mystery. I'm sure you or someone here will be able to tell me what they are. I will put up a short vid later.

It was great to meet up with you on Saturday, so pleased to hear that you are happy with your purchase and so pleased that's it's gone to such a good home and will get the use and care that it deserves.

I believe the mystery item is as the post above suggests a roller file rest.

I will get the user manual in the post to you on Thursday.
