I've toyed for a while with the idea of making an acorn pendant for my 2 year old granddaughter. ideally I'd like to use silver but daren't so maybe brass, alloy or pewter so tried a prototype in corian recently.
Pictured against a £1 coin, It isn't quite what I want and need it about half the size, I'd also texture the cup part and shape the end but it seems perfectly feasible.

And this is the little "too big for her boots" mouse that it's all about:rolling::funny:

what about carving it in wax, and then casting it (or having it cast) in silver?

:thinks: Hmm that never crossed my mind though I would want to do the whole process myself. I do have an old silver ingot (from my del boy days:whistling::funny:) but never tried melting silver.

You could try Precious metal clay Bob?

You can mould it and finish it when dry, then fire it to solid Silver?:bwink:

Lots of good ideas for me to look into guys, much appreciated.

She's at the age where you have to be very careful what you say when she's in earshot. They were in Munich last weekend and in the middle of a crowd when she dropped her doll in a puddle so at the top of her voice she shouted "oh dear, what a bummer". I got the blame for that, I only hope she hasn't heard some of my more colourful expletives :goesred::funny:

Pity most Germans understand English:whistling:
