Anyone know the equivalent of the Minwax that Les Elm uses in the UK.

As far as I can see you cant buy it in the UK at least I cant find it

Wiping finish is pretty easy to make. Take your favorite poly and start cutting it with mineral spirits. Start with a 70/30 (poly/mineral spirits) mix to see if that works for you. You will most likely prefer a thinner mix. I believe a can of wipe on poly is close to 50/50.

So basically any good quality clear gloss Polyurethane would do thinned down

Our guild Furniture section have used a this formula for ages now with great success ,trust in the UK has the same. No where near as expensive to buy minwax as what I have spent on Cyanoacrylate glues over the years, unless its only me lost so much that has dried up.

The last time I looked you could buy Oil or Water based Polyurethane. I’m guessing it’s not the latter?
