Tempest
A customer I sold a Tempest to and returned with the pen removed and the button pressed asking me to fix it.
I know it can be fixed but I don't know how.

Are you trying to remove the “click” mechanism without damaging it?
If you are, I was told by an experienced pen maker to get another tube for the tempest.
Cut down along the length of the tube and use that to push the click mechanism out.
Then replace with a new click mechanism. Hope that makes sense.
I’ve not tried this as the Tempest is a reliable kit.
What did they do to damage it?

If you feel that the mechanism is broken then just use a transfer punch to push it out.
You will probably need a new kit anyway.

Have you tried just pushing the piston on the mechanism back up using the refill? It could be that when your customer pushed the button down with no refill in it, the piston might have caught on something. Worth a try I would think.

If that doesn't work and there is enough of the button showing to be able to get hold of, you could try unscrewing the button and them pushing on the piston with the refill. It could be the button that is caught on something. Be careful when you do that though - there is a tiny little spring in there that you don't want to ping off across your workshop.
