Moisture meter

Advice please. Many of you probably use a moisture meter so are the cheap ones any good or do I need to spend a small fortune? Suggestions welcome.

Thanks for the comments gents, I found the thread you referred to Neil you're obviously very knowledgeable, it was most helpful. I think I'll give them a miss.

I was going to buy one and after listening to Neil have resorted to just weighing the wood. When it doesn't loose any more weight its dry. :thumbs:

Bloody unreliable pieces of junk no matter what the cost.
Any moisture meter can only measure between the probes and relies on moisture to complete the circuit.
Far more accurate to weigh the subject.
I will be playing with our X ray machine next week I wonder if that will be any good LOL.
