To answer your original question Steve. They are nice enough blanks, but in my opinion, the finished product doesn't look much like real damascus steel. I have seen a few pens made from these blanks on the IAP website and I am not convinced they are worth the money. Just my opinion though, if you search IAP for damascus or mokume you will see a few examples and you can decide for yourself.
