Two Slimlines I have used Bog Oak before and polished it this time used Orange Oil and gave it a Matt finish.
The Monkey Puzzle never turned before, it turns great and has a good grain structure resembling Pine.
Finished with Friction Polish and Wax
Hope you like them please feel free to comment.

Very nice shape and finish to both, I found bog oak difficult to finish as what I have is very open grained... Might try an oil finish🤔

Nice pair of pens. đź‘Ť
I’ve never turned bog oak, in fact I’d really like to get my hands on some Fenland Bog-oak to give it a go. You’ve inspired me!

Couple of nice pens I have found with the open grain of bog oak when sanding use a super glue slurry fills the grain so the wood is nice n smooth also monkey puzzle wood is a member of the pine family so it is just the same as turning pine

Thanks. Didn't want to fill the grain to me it's a feature of the wood. And a Matt finish works well. Only my opinion.

Two great species, they sure provide challenges, like the lines on the pen another variation worth trying is using the streamline centre bands to allow beaut shaping, cross grain although sensitive turning can be very special, liked your pens.
