These are a couple of Pine pieces I made from the top of a treated Pine fence post which I cut off a few years ago & left to dry. I know Woody likes pine so I put them up for him to look at.
Fhese two pics are of a little goblet 100mm high x 38mm diameter.

These two pics are of a pen/pencil holder 110mm high x 60mm diameter.
All are finished with s/s & carnauba wax buffed on a mop.

Love the goblet, very nicely shaped.
I like pine but have not had that sort of success with it,
Turned many a fence post but not to fine detail like that, you have my admiration sir.

Beauties Bill. Great detail in the goblet considering the wayward nature of pine. Hat's off to you sir:thumbs:

yes very nice indeed. Pine is just about the worst wood i have turned so far, although not so bad taking a finish. That goblet is very nice.

That is lovely - really nice finish, and great detailing!

I have never had that much success with pine, clearly I need to practice more!

That is super Bill and just goes to show that no wood should be dismissed for turning.

Two very nice pieces Bill. I think pine is very underrated it can have some outstanding features within it.

The colour of pine can sometimes be bland & takes time for it to get that golden hue. With this piece being preserved the preservative gave it a lovely warm colour. It was a nice surprise when it was turned.
A sharp skew is probably the best tool for pine.

Very nice, I particularly like the goblet. Last one I tried in pine, flew across the workshop just as I was finally shaping the stem. Allen
