A couple of Slimlines!
Oak from an old table top, and Rengas, a timber that you rarely see nowadays. Apparently it is a bit of an irritant (Just like me!)
The pens are actually the same size, but had to take the pic at an awkward angle to show the grain.
It's Melamine Lacquer from the tin Phil.
I always use this to finish my pens. It can be built up every couple of minutes, but takes a while to fully cure. Once it has, it is hard as nails.
Thanks for the comments guys.
The Rengas was given to me quite a few years ago now. A small blank stamped by John Boddy Timber.
It does have some nice darker streaks in it, but it is all rather subtle grain wise. Might look better on a bigger pen.
