When I was a kid nearly all ash trays, ornaments, trays etc in wood were made from Mulga, these days not seen so often. A strong heavy deep timber.

You have made a good job of them I know just how hard or should I say brittle Mulga is no wonder the Aborigines made there shields with it I gave some to a friend an experienced turner and the first bit he tried he broke it trying to drill it out so well done

The second one looks better in colour Peter, but nice shapes to both ... :bwink:
