I have just made this mushroom it was requested by my daughter to give as a leaving present for a friend.
Made from a Beech that fell down last year in the Church graveyard across the road from my house its 8 inches high, sanded down to 400 grit then polished with my 3 wheel polishing set

Tried for the first time burning with a blowtorch to get the underside.

I like the burning idea Tom, it works well for a mushroom .. A nice bit of turning my friend .. :thumbs:
