When I first started making pens a mate gave me some Musk Burl it was more common then like the proverbial Hens teeth now. It was a mongrel to dry and those days I used to cut blanks as small as I could lost most of the Musk it went twisted like a pretzel any way full of pride I saw my mate and showed him my pen I made with his Musk Burl I lost the rest to twisting only had the one dry blank. His wife went ape at him saying how he promised her a pen of musk so I gave her the pen (ces la vie). Over the years found very little of it recently got two blanks this is one.

The other day I mentioned some days are magic well when I was assembling this pen I forgot to fit the centre band briefly. Now I do the two halves separtately and somehow this pen came together so well I left it this way.

Kind regards Peter.

I agree - it looks good without the c/b. Could it be that it allows more view of the wood without being interrupted by the band?

Nice work, Peter!

Bob.
