Bit different to [MENTION=626]flexi[/MENTION] and his version but here was my first attempt today. The wood was I believe Walnut - it was a chunk in the offcuts box at Yandles!

I like that a lot.... Very nice... Looks a bit like wenge:thumbs::thumbs:

Mark, I did a google of Wenge and it makes sense and looks a lot like it, I see it is also known sometimes as African Rosewood and I know Yandles have stocked it in the past and as I say it came from the bottom of the offcuts bin for I think it was 74p for a piece just under a foot and roughly 2" x 2" with wedge out of the side - I thought it was too good a bargain not to have :thumbs:
