Andy another common name for a type of Mallee to me neat grain. I hasten to say I take no notice of apparent distortions due to the sometimes horrific shapes some reducing pixel programs introduce at times why I settled for the basic Picassa 3 for myself.If this blank is related to the resting blank it must have been interesting to turn the wax sealing off.

This pen is great your pic shows it well the pen is straight on the first pic distorted who cares on the second pic. Sometimes strange results come from lenses, angles etc.
