Being self critical, as one is, well I'm sure the bullet shell didn't look this scratched just before I assembled it! Seemed like I brasso-ed it about a million times. Ho hum.

And you can see the join inside the acrylic, but that's more due to the light here I think.

Other than that, quite pleased. Cheers PaulM. Will have another go methinks, perhaps get a camouflage blank?

Very nice Rob, I'm in the middle of making one of these today and I polished the bullet casing with micromesh through to 12000 grit and then a car paint scratch remover compound and it came up pretty good. I'll show the result tomorrow. :thumbs:

If you are using acrylic that is translucent, paint the inside of the blank before you put the tube in:thumbs:

Thats a damn fine bullet pen Rob. My first attempt was crap, and will be going in the cheap faulty box. When I finish it :goesred:

You've done a great job there Rob for a first effort. This is probably one of the most difficult pens I've made and you've got it as good as it gets for a first effort.

That's a great first attempt Rob :thumbs::thumbs::thumbs:

I have also found to my cost that on many acrylics you need to paint the brass tube an appropriate colour :thinks::thinks:
