After I made a comment on one of Scott's threads the other day about my dad having a accident & needing skin grafts & the best wishes that followed, I thought I would let you know what happened & how he's doing, I thought I would start a new thread as I already had bombarded Scott's thread with posts (Sorry Scott)

We're not sure exactly what happened but he either passed out or tripped and collapsed right in front of a halogen fire that was on full blast, don't know if he was unconscious or what as he was laid up againsed the fire for a couple of hours or more & recieved substantial 3rd degree burns to his back & arm, he has other health problems & the paramedics told us he was very poorly and it was touch & go for a while, he seems to be doing ok now & has had skin grafts done today, sounds like recovery is going to be quite a while but he's getting there :praying:

That's terrible, hope he recovers well.

It's always a worry, my mil lives on her own about 20 miles from us, she's 90 and while reasonable fit has various ailments and is more confused by the week. She's also independant, (until she wants something), but just have to let them get on with it. Going to happen to most of us eventually.

Blimey Paul that sounds awful mate, hope he gets well soon bless him :praying:

It's so bloody easily done, on Tuesday morning at 1:30 I had to go out in the garden to get the dog in to stop her barking at foxes and on the way in I tripped and ended up having an argument with paving slabbed outside step, cracked me head open above the left eye and underneath as well also left hand trying to stop myself!

Still only waited 5 hours for a bloody Ambulance :rolling: so after a sleepless night and 8 stitches although I felt rough I can only guess how your Dad feels!

Thanks for all the well wishes guys, sorry I haven't replied sooner but we've had a rough & busy few days & now we're away camping for 8 nights in the Lakes ⛺️☔️

OMG Ted hope your feeling a bit better now & fully mended soon, luckily the ambulance was with my day very quickly

Yeh my dads very independent, he's only 77 but has also got Parkinson's & incurable cancer, so this was all he needed, but concidering everything he's going through he seems to be more upbeat than the rest of us.

Oh he also has a irregular heart beat & on Tuesday the doctors had said that he was so poorly if his heart stopped they wouldn't resuscitate him with everything he had wrong with him

He's very much in our thoughts. Just got Evelyn back from 2 near misses & a heart operation. She's tired but stable & hopefully on the mend. Missed our holiday though.
