Hi, Steven,

That is a fine-looking pen, and a credit to the Alpha range. Well done!

Now a little nit-picking. Are they radial lines I can see in the wood? If so, avoid them on your next effort by sanding up to 600 grit, and also, before changing grits, and with the lathe stopped, sand from cap end to nib end. This will remove any rings from the previous grit. This is NOT a criticism, merely a pointer to producing a sound pen.

Good luck, matey!

Bob.

I was thinking it was the friction polish because the ca looked good before that. Ill try wiping length ways from now on. Thanks for spotting it and for the helpful solutions from everyone

Looks a very nice pen Stephen

After CA'ing all I do is go over with a wipe of burnishing cream which brings up a super shine

Some sound advice their Stephen which I also have taken on board. Hope my first finished Alpha turns out as good as yours. Despite 3 attempts I have had problems every time. The kit is great I just keep bodging the blanks.
