Your picture shows the beaut fit you achieved,a true Slimline, I call it wonderful for first pen. Top ,centre and tip match the fittings. If you isolate your pens, find a small prop to raise the pen one end, use a plain paper under and curved up you have an endless background and achieve separation from the back ground.

I use a simple open box like this. Lighting from the sides and or a third resting on the top.

Terrific first up pen.

Peter.

A friend gave me some friction polish. Put on two coats and it looked really shiny. But now of the lathe the shine has gone?

Mustang Sally is on fire there.

That looks superb for a first one Sally, only wished my first one looked anything like it :whistling:

You will have loads of comment on picture quality and what it should look like but provided I can see the shape and the colour then that’s all that’s needed. I can see that easily on your pic.

But TBH you will be your own worst critic, so if you are happy with it, if it feels right and looks right then it probably is right.

Keep this one and look back at it from time to time and you will see how you have developed

Anyway, don’t know what you messing at, should be another one posted by now.

Trouble is the addiction has now got you, it will drag you in and have every last penny out of you:funny:

I am a recovering addict:goesred:, been away from it for a while but it’s done it again and dragged me back.

I was thinking or asking Phil to see if we could have a page for addicts where we could get help.:winking:

I joined a few days ago and posted one of my pens, also slimline. I think your pen is nice. I was told by the wise on this site, to keep it and look at it in a years time, to see how much I'd improved, so I'll say the same to you. It seems to be a slippery slope!!!!!!!! Top turning:thumbs:

Great looking first pen Sally. I too like to see slim slimlines, so your's ticks the box for me. Yep, hang on to it and measure your journey by it. There's plenty of opinion and advice kicking about the forum regarding finishing and photography, and both of those aspects are both part of the journey.

Enjoy your new hobby.
