I seem to remember they could be dated by the colour but unsure of what the colours were for these.
Originally cream then blue followed by green and finally grey / silver.
Or something of that kin.

TBH, I thought the oldest was the grey / silver. I thought the first prototype ml7 was this colour..

I'll try & remember to ask about how old it is tomorrow, the chap who owns it is getting on for retirement age & it came to him passed down from an uncle I believe, so I imagine it is fairly old :thinks:

There will be a serial number on the back, behind the tail stock end of the base plate, (bed plate ) once you get that you stand a chance of finding out when it was made..

Following with interest, some of the finest home produced work I have seen came from a mate who used an ML7 access from his house was down a tight spiral staircase or his garage. Where he worked for many years he had use of a huge metal workshop and he made his own and many more gear boxes cutting the gears etc before work, lunch time and after work. He made precision his aim in life.

Peter.

You could well be correct Eamonn, I remember the colours but not the sequence or dates.
There was a time when I could quote model types dates and what shade of whose paint etc but I have slept since then.
