At last , finally got a myford ML7 Lathe.
Been after one for a while and one came up on evilbay local to me and was too good to miss. Paid a little more than i wanted £790 but it is a great investment and a great workhorse lathe.
A totally refurbished and repainted ML7 works like new lovingly restored by a retired enthusiast . Picking it up tomorrow morning .
Hope the wife has her Weetabix when i bring it home.
PLAN:
Seller will load onto my van with a hoist, planning to hopefully slide lathe out of van straight onto myford stand on wheels, secure 4 bolts and push up drive EASY

We will wait and see .
ps: Will be selling CHESTER SUPER CONQUEST SOON IF ANYONES INTERESTED, only used 3 times .

Well done, I have had one a few years now and can't fault it..

You won't go wrong with it, still get spares for them, although they are getting a little more expensive now?

PM winging its way to find out a little more about the conquest..

Johnny what a great buy mate that price was a gift if you consider the work in restoration like vintage cars if you added that time and quality in restoration you could never afford it the ways look reground and immaculate love the additional change gears for threading and the second chuck a mate of mine since passed did pro level work on his for thirty odd years. Congratulations and thanks for sharing the good news.

Peter.

One Very happy Bunny
Picked up the Lathe this morning and well pleased.
Ironic his house overlooked TATA steelworks in Port Talbot surrounded by mist and smog as i first arrived.
The seller had A stunning man cave , He also had 2 other Myford lathes of a higher spec in his shed and makes model trains and planes..
A real gentleman and so meticulous and clean in his workshop , unlike me :guessed:
Me the missus and her daughter managed without too much difficulty to lift it onto the stand.
I am not supposed to lift as i have 2 large post surgical abdominal hernias after having major bowel surgery 4 times in the past 2 years.
The next time this lathe will be lifted is when i am Dead and hopefully will be a few more years yet.
The only tricky bit was me trying to take off the Rollers of the stand using a 2 ton trolley jack :rolling:
Managed it and now the fun begins .
Thanks for the comments everyone.

That's a lovely looking lathe and seems like a great price for such a quality machine.
