took a slice of a couple of blanks yesterday
been sitting on shelf for ages

anyone got a clue what they are please?

Looks like wood to me but I could be wrong.

I would say Bubinga and Oak, but I'm not an expert so I am possibly very wrong

the first one is quite pink with a black grain......not purpleheart but similar
the second one is very dark with "creamy" grain

Looking at suggestions...i would say bocote
i have found some feint writing on other one....katalox
which apparently is poor mans ebony

the moor ironic thing with this,is
i cut the slice off to use as a fretboard, and is seems is a luthiers choice, so i guessd that right
