took a slice of a couple of blanks yesterday
been sitting on shelf for ages

anyone got a clue what they are please?

I would say Bubinga and Oak, but I'm not an expert so I am possibly very wrong :thinks::thinks:

the first one is quite pink with a black grain......not purpleheart but similar
the second one is very dark with "creamy" grain

first one will be a guitar fretboard
second one will make a pen box..and maybe a matching pen
the 2nd one really has me
the pic dont do it justice as it has become my timber porn

i have found some feint writing on other one....katalox
which apparently is poor mans ebony

the moor ironic thing with this,is
i cut the slice off to use as a fretboard, and is seems is a luthiers choice, so i guessd that right:thumbs:
