I have finaly got this sussed....i am drilling out the bullet heads and resizing and seating the bullets into the cases....if i use a 1/4" drill then the transmision is a push fit into the case.....so no kit parts!20180629_180236.jpg
If others would like some of these i may start offering to do them.....i have other calibers too and a lot of "work in progress":thinks:

Are they .308 cases I have lots of them. What type and weight of bullet are you using. Nice work.

Hi Dave, yes .308s I have used various weights, it's more important that their FMJs as I remove all the lead with drilling. I have a Lee press with dies so deprime and size the case.....drill the base.....then install a drilled bullet again with the press so it's properly seated.

Hi Mark I am just setting up to do bullet pens, as a deer stalker I have no shortage of components, apart from fmj bullets ( not used for stalking) I use a 22-250 for foxing and have looked at making pens from them but they look to short in length , about a 1/4 inch shorter than a 308, have you tried the 22-250 ???? I will stick to the 308 at the moment untill I get used to what is required,, if you want to try the 22-250 im me your address and I will send you a couple of cases and bullets for you to try
Cheers
Ray

.i am drilling out the bullet heads.

I know this is not a shooting forum but the term bullet heads is not correct. Its a bullet. The head is the base of the case. Believe me on a shooting forum you would be shot down in flames for using the term bullet head.

Thanks for the info Dave most of us are aware of proper names and terms using ammunition but choose other expressions including those of us who live in other countries. Tongue in cheek names come freely when we are amongst friends.Welcome to the Pen Forum.

Peter.
