Remember going to see one of my Dad's friends when I was a kid, he had an old car gearbox (think it was a Ford one) for his home made lathe, worked brilliantly from what I recall.

Is there any sort of warranty with it? 
I’ve used a lathe like that. It was home made & worked ok.

My first was home made,loved it worked great for years,then saw the light and bought real quality,it vreally pays from Qld,Ihave always purchased bare lathes,quality motors and variable control..
