You have made an excellent job on your first pen. I bet you feel great after succeeding with your first attempt.
You couldn't have made a better choice than Mr Middleton to show you. He is a real gent !!!!

Two things wrong with this, are you ready?
Sit down and pour a drink, steady your nerves cos I am gonna rip in and take no prisoners.

1/ It's a burl in America, rest of world it's a burr

2/ Paul gave it to the wrong person, I want it iinit?

Lovely job Neil, one to be proud of for an early attempt.
Put it somewhere safe and keep it protected, look at it every 6 months and gain inspiration from it.

You've done a great job on that Neil and having talked to the person who I got it from, we can say its Olive Ash as Neil F suggested in a previous thread.

On behalf of the rest of the world albeit 23 million Australians will always call a burl a burl, a burr is what you find under a saddle a ragged edge rectified by a reamer, an irritation no less.Ho hum who cares mate.

Very nice indeed, excellent first pen, it might be a bit overturned by the centre band for my liking, but if you like it and all the others on here like it, who am I to say..
