From your pictures, it looks as though the tubes / resin got to hot and started to fracture John.
As has already been said, you have to keep the tool VERY sharp and light cutting to help stop this from happening.
This is why I sent you Three as it happens a lot of the time...
Keep practicing and if you need anymore, let me know
