I had the idea to embed some flashing NFC Chips into a resin blank near to where the stylus would be. I have tested them to make sure they work on a friends phone that is NFC enabled mine isn't and the wife's iPhone although it does have Apple Pay, it doesn't have NFC accessible to the end user.

When I first saw them I thought it would be a neat idea to see if I could incorporate them, but not having NFC capable machines I forgot all about the idea until I just came across the chips again.

These are 11.42mm x 7.55mm Sorry about the photo, but the chip was still in the plastic pouch it came in.

Nifty idea there Peter

I think it was a nifty idea for a bit of fun, but the problem is that it has to be in contact or only 5mm away from the source so it probably won't work well. If anyone has an NFC capable phone and would like to try it I have a spare one that I can send you.

I would have fun not with the chip on my finger nail but in a pen in a small group meeting activating the light taking off my shoe as if to make a telephone call like Maxwell Smart used to it would be a hoot. Thanks for showing so many novelties out there.

Peter.

I am happy to say someone has claimed the chip and I look forward to see if can be used in a pen or stylus for a bit of fun.
