I know there are some fountain pen nib experts on here but I can't remember who you are. Not me for sure, I have only recently found out that Iridium Point Germany means not iridium tipped or made in Germany.

I am looking to fit better nibs to some of my pens and would appreciate some advice about interchangeability, in other words which nib will fit which pen? What nibs are the best value for money etc.? Who are the best suppliers?

For example, say I wanted to fit a Jowo nib into one of Dan's Omegas, which should I choose?

Also some advice about the anatomy of nibs, feeds carriers etc would not come amiss

Can someone help please?

I think this is the sort of information any one on the forum who makes fountain pens would find useful

If you pm me your address Walter I'll put a few nibs and carriers in the post so that you can have a play before out laying on Bock or other costly nibs.

Timberbits sell Bock 5 and 6 nibs and without looking at the omega I would have thought it was a 5 or the smaller of the two. They are just the nib without any feed or housing, but I use them to swap out nibs for people who want German nibs.

Nibs can be personal preference as well as performance like choosing tyres for cars there are many right answers.

Peter.
