Hi, Guys,

Here's a Junior Gents rollerball from my, by now, well-known meranti shipping pallet. This is a really nice wood to turn and polish, and my planks range from chocolate-brown to light-cream. Finished with grits to 600, a wipe of white spirit to remove the dust and to pop the grain, one application of BLO, then three coats of friction polish. Apologies for the piccies (this is my weaker skill!)

As a point of interest, skilphil earlier uploaded a very nice chalice made from meranti, which goes to show how versatile this wonderful wood is. Such a shame that it's being turned into packing material (and then burned, probably!)

Bob.
