Woody has posted some of the "trustone" blanks that are starting to appear on eBay. The distributor of these in China has withdrawn the name Trustone and now calls them yunstone. I guess that is because the original manufacturer of trustone, rt research in the U.S. might well have an international patent ( if there is such a thing) on the product?

Hi Neil

I did post on the original "trustone" subject the following:

Just to give you an update, After asking various questions to my supplier they have come back with:

“Our a Americian customer reflect to us that " Trustone " is their own brand, so we have changed the name to Yunstone" .
"But the product is same".
"We suggest you sell them as other name or use Yunstone.”

Hope this helps. Your comments always welcome.

I look forward to Woody giving his appraisal (good or bad) and posting some pics of the finished article once he has turned his blanks.

Just this morning I have had confirmation that they are made in China with the full knowledge of the USA company and that as time goes on other colurs will be come available.
As you can see from the original message, I guess that they have been in contact with the original manufacturers.

I still haven't had chance to try one and I am holiday from the 14th Jan to the 26th Jan. Maybe I will take the lathe with me..............SWMBO might have something to say about that.....:thinks::thinks::thinks:
I will do some as soon as I get back in the meantime maybe those of you who have bought them would be kind enought to give an appraisal on here - GOOD or BAD...:winking::winking::winking:

Cheers
Davey Gee

You can take out an international patent covering those states that have signed up to the Patent Co-operation Treaty (which includes China):

You are so right Woody, we always go for cheap and sod the consequences. Look at the milk industry at the moment, cheaper than water and I for one would be happy to pay more for a pint of milk so the farmers have a proper living...

Sorry, I diversify... I'll get my coat.
