Managed to get hold of a Piece of Burr Oak 5 feet 5 inches long by 26 wide by 2 1/2 inches thick

Looking to make a coffee table out of it

What do you think ? Any other ideas welcome .

Can I make a suggestion?

You see that lovely rounded end with the bark...... Well if you were to replicate the same sort of end at the other end (not necessarily identical but a similar shape ie equally offset with a similar 45 degree chamfer ) then it would make a lovely coffee table.

PS finished in Tung oil and not some lacquer!!

Alternatively you could make a great coffee table with it :thumbs:

Johnny I had a look at your site and this Oak Burl using the same legs as your Spalted Ash Coffee Table would be altogether outstanding, PS loved the site pics and planning.
