Had a play with the Lyle Jamieson Rig today to see how thin I could go.

I got this down to a wall thickness of 2mm

The form is 6" high and 4" diam at its widest

Woody I've got to say it's the best investment that I have made. I suffer with Vibration White Finger and have tried out no end of hollowing tools including the Sorby/Stewart Arm Brace tool and couldn't get on with any of them. With the Jamieson rig I can sit on my bar stool and operate the tool with just a couple of fingers with very little if no vibration. I have hollowed up to 14" deep . I have made some carbon tipped tools to fit the rig which I find better than the HSS cutters that come with the rig.

The lazer light takes away all the worry of going too thin on the walls. I sometimes use it for bowls if I'm feeling lazy.

I was lucky with this one as I brought it second hand at more than half the price of importing one. There are other makes available which perform exactly like this one, but I chose this purely on the bargain price that I got it for.

I am going to go against the grain here Vic the first picture makes it look like you have a fat bottom and does nothing for me but the second picture give it a better looking shape altogether. All the same a nice piece of turning and finish and glad you like your toy.
