This is the first of some of the odd jobs that need doing around the workshop.

I was given this vice and thought that before I find a home for it that a little cleanup and repaint was in order.

A before during and after photo. Smooth Hammerite paint was pretty close to the original Record colour

The old vices are the best. I bought my Record vice many years ago when they were made in England of cast steel.

I started when it was to hot, when it cooled down I spend a lot of time going up and down the track to see the quacks.
Once I got that sorted I had to go down south to look after my father, got home a couple of days before Christmas.
Now its hot as hell again.:sob:

Super job Derek.

I have my late father in law's vice in a box somewhere, still awaiting some attention. It's very similar to yours from memory - you may have inspired me to get on the case.

Everything in chaos here yesterday Henny Penny Sky fell in my suburb with busted windows car front and back windows and all hail to golf ball sized and all shapes with 100 km winds etc. Put my claim in today for insurances. Nice to see the drought kicked about but this was once in a hundred years stuff.

So that determines what I will be doing better luck for you mate.

Peter.
