Just want to moan for a few seconds.

Just received an email from Octopus who are our energy supplier.
They just wanted to let me know that they are increasing our monthly DD from £96 up to £176,

We live in a small 2 bed flat, one bedroom qualifies as a bedroom by 2" that's how small it is.
They did have some good news though, that is we don't have to do anything as they will set it all up.

We were in credit with our Gas supplier by quite a bit my wife asked for it back and they put our standing order up, :thinks:
If we are over paying and creating a credit surely they should reduce the standing order..... They are a law unto themselves, :face::face:

We are just over £280 in credit and they have said they could only give back £100 as they like to keep 1 months payment in the account :thinks:

We have never paid late or missed a payment so why the heck do they want a months payment to remain in the account :rant:

when these robbing clowns decided to put up the prices to a stupid amount I immediately cancelled all direct Debits and standing orders. Now I am in control each month of when I pay them rather than them just taking the money direct from my account and then arguing over it with me. This gives me time to scrutinise and question them each time. You will be amazed at how many times your bill 'all of a sudden' is reduced when you call and complain.

We would have done this years ago but they give a discount if you pay by direct debit. There is also another small discount for supplying meter readings.

I wish our roof was better suited for solar panels.

I know interest rates are an all time low but even so just think how much money they make each month out of all of us. Most of us are in credit with them! If not they quickly put up the monthly direct debit! As for the standing charge, don’t even get me started on that!
