I bought up all the old stock that TR had up for sale at £1.00 each, but of course they offered me the lot for an even better price including postage. I thought I would turn one today as I have had then for nearly about 18 months and haven't got round to it. The turning was fine although I used some spalted timber that I had to keep flooding with CA, but that isn't the problem.

The problem is I can't quite get it to seat correctly and it looks like the top part doesn't come low enough onto the bottom blank. I know Woody and Jim have had these pencils from TR, but I can't find one on the Forum that has been assembled so that I can see how it should look when seated properly. I also had to trim a lip off the pencil mechanism to get it to seat anywhere near the correct position, but that can't be right. I have also given some of these kits to people on the Forum, but have not seen anyone put up a photo of the finished item. Does anyone have a photo of the finished item so I can see what it should look like.

You can see the kit here and in bulk here

Only just seen this Peter,

I may have some old pictures of my dads, will have to dig them out to see what there is. Would have to scan them in as they were all prints.:rolling:

Don't go to the trouble of scanning them Eamonn. I assembled one yesterday without wood on the tubes and it worked perfectly so either I might have over trimmed the ends of the blanks or the one I used was faulty, I suspect I may have over trimmed. I have to try another one now just to see a (properly) finished kit.
