Take a guess
Bought a new mandrel yesterday whilst at the Toolpost open day for turning slimlines on, so like a kid with a new toy I thought I best give it a whirl this morning.
This blank had Olive written on it & had that distinctive smell but is very brown in colour :nooidea:

Finished with friction polish then Hutt wax on a gunmetal slimline.

A lovely little piece, Doug, especially with that "badge" on it!

I share Jim's reservation - it's not like any olive I've ever turned. If I was asked I'd say it was elm, maybe.

Nice pen Doug, the blank has plenty of character whether it is Olive or not ..
