Bought a new mandrel yesterday whilst at the Toolpost open day for turning slimlines on, so like a kid with a new toy I thought I best give it a whirl this morning.
This blank had Olive written on it & had that distinctive smell but is very brown in colour

Finished with friction polish then Hutt wax on a gunmetal slimline.
