Think this is Olive wood, certainly smelt like it when I was turning it, but it has shades of orange, purple & brown in it :nooidea::nooidea:

On a gunmetal euro finished with Hutt wax.

Nice pen what ever the wood Doug, love the stand also my friend ..

Quite obviously it was made on the lathe, don't know what made Terry think it was made from using the scrollsaw ... :rolling:

Nice work on pen and stand, Doug!

Could that be a piece of cocobolo there, matey? Only a suggestion...

Bob.

Thanks Bob,

I don't think it is Cocobolo as it didn't smell right, it definitely smelt like Olive, Cocobolo has a very distinctive smell.

Doug,

Strange -yes. I noticed this when I posted the chilean laurel/peruvian nutmeg on the ipad it was brown and the pc green, or it might have been the other way round
