The photo with the top off, without the white spots, they are not visible to the naked eye when looking at the pen :thinks: but editing in lightroom / photoshop seems to have brought them out :whistling:

Great result that, nearly bought a lump of Black Palm from the shop adjacent to the woodturning club yesterday, but settled for a big £20 lump of Brown Mallee. Wish I had bought the Black Palm as well, got shouted at when I got home so I might a well have got it all over with in one go!

That is really very very nice, the wood really suits the kit.

Not tried palmwood, got some in my blanks box, if it finishes like that I'll get it out.
