Hi all an Omega in a lovely piece of Horse chestnut from Neil Lawton he is a true gent to deal with( as are most of the members on here) with some cracking timber...many thanks.:thumbs:

Lovely piece of wood and a great finish, what did you use?
Hi William.....a lot of CA...because chestnut can be soft i used thin CA to soak it prior to finishing and sanding. Then a good few coats of medium CA as a finish with micromesh and a final buff with burnishing cream.
Its to be a gift to a good friend for the Charles Dickens museum at the school where i work

One of my favourite woods Mark and you've made a great match with the gun metal finish. Spot on work mate :thumbs::thumbs:
