Well, I decided this weekend to try out the Melamine finish technique that Phil (kindly) shared with us.

I followed it to the letter except for thinning the sealer, mainly because I didn't have any thinners!
However, the sanding and burnishing with the shavings gave me one of the smoothest pens yet, and the finish with the Melamine and wax was to pleasant to the touch.

Although not as glossy as CA, I do think it is better than CA.

I'm converted! :thumbs::thumbs::thumbs:

Very nice indeed, I myself have applied Phil's method to several pens and found it easier, cleaner and quicker. :thumbs::thumbs:
