The pictures poor. I will get round to a better set up. Not a good example. I made one blank a wee bit short and it has some cracks and chips, but good enough for a first try with all items. I then b*****d up and put the nib and centre cap on the wrong way, first time I'd put an Omega together and was rushing, never a good idea. Then I tried to dissasemble and broke the centre cap. I will have to ask Dan to see if he keeps spares.

So all in all I like the kit, I like the blanks but the turner and photographer need some work. It will do as a pen for me, and it was an idea for a mix that looks better in daylight than on the picture. A learning curve methinks.

Back to school days for the marking.

Robinson, you can do better see me after class. 4/10

These thing happen mate just put it down to part of your learning curve. I have been turning for nearly 6 years now and still manage the more than occasional cock up.

Very nice John, a good contrast in the colours. How about a photo of it together to show it off in all its glory?

I need to get a better set up for photos, and to this end I have ordered some kit to do this. So hopefully will post better pics in due course.

Dan, It was self inflicted, not the kits problem, too much brute force and ignorance. I was rushing and put the kit together wrong. If you do keep some spare parts, then I can resurrect the kit, at my cost. Please do not think I was blaming the kit or the tools just the human tool trying to put it together who needed to RTFM.

Glad your on your way with pen turning addiction John. As everyone says, we all make a balls up of it now and then regardless of how long we've been turning. A good idea mixing the colours though.
