Just a bit of tongue and cheek. I've been practising again and thought I'd have a go at a parallel slimline. Again, the wood is from a donated box, so you can tell me what it is. Melamine finish.

I know Phil likes these,I prefer shaping and using those larger centre bands. When I finished yesterdays turning I finished up with a lot of waste,maybe I felt let down I could have made some use of it.:thumbs:

Ah ha, a refreshingly parallel slimline. Peter's right - I do prefer slimlines that are parallel, but I also see plenty of fine looking ones with a bit of shape to them. It's when they look like a string of sausages I start getting worried for the person who has to write with it.

The wood looks like it's oak from where I'm sitting.
