Hiya Guys and Girls,

My wife has asked me to turn her a pen for her mother for Christmas and I'd like to do something for my sister too. What's a good kit for the ladies? I like the Duchess kit from woodturningz but no one this side of the pond seems to have it in stock. what alternatives do you guys that sell pens find the ladies go for? and ladies what kits do you like?

Check out the UK suppliers on the net, work around these, adjust to fit your budget then ask the question would this be a good choice or not. Also so many beaut casters on the forum who have shown blanks for sale recently.

Peter.

The original Duchess kit is produced by Penn State Industries. You can get a cheap copy of it from Axminster in the UK. It's an older design, which has fallen out of favour these days because more modern ones have come along in recent times to usurp it, with less bling and better mechanisms.

People have been kind enough to mention the Tempest and the Sirocco, both from from Beaufort Ink. I own Beaufort ink, and if you'd like to know any more about them, please don't hesitate to get in touch. Incidentally, the slimmest fountain pen available on the market in the UK, which is frequently bought for ladies pens, is the Mistral, which is also a Beaufort Ink kit.
