One of my early pen sets ( when I first started pen turning in 2009) that I did as a commemoration set for my mum in memory of my late father who served in the RAF. This set is used by my mother to this day on a regular basis which to me made all the work involved worth every penny.

The wood is London Plane and the roundels are acrylic sheet glued to give thickness then turned to size to fit into each other to form the roundel this then passes right through the blank before drilling for the brass tube.

Derek loved the reasons and the making and the choice of (plane) timber. What a thoughtful present made by you to your Mum honouring your father, beautiful practical sentiments for such a treasure, thanks for sharing we also honour our Service people and understand. Thank you for sharing.

It's things made like this that make me glad there are people in the world that have the gift of creating. The amount of a persons self that can be put into making something can be astounding, and this is a perfect example. Wonderful story, and a wonderful set!! :bravo::bravo::bravo:
