As in the title can anyone post a link to some good info on turning one piece pens from kitsplease, I have watched a couple of youtube videos but the main problem I find with the channel is although there is a lot of good info there is also a lot of bad info & if you don't know anything about the subect you are searching for then it is sometimes difficult to know which is which lol

I did make a one piece pencil from a slimline kit, shaped it the same way I do my streamline pens which is pretty straight as I have said before. It was going to be part of a set with a streamline pen ut not so sure now as it is missing the centre band, would like to try making the pen to match, ot perfect but it didn't turn out to badly for one of mine lol

I have made a few one piece pens, mostly from 7mm kits. I don't quite understand what you want to achieve if it's repeatability I use calipers as you generally don't have bushes to turn between...

Sorry if I wasn't clear, just looking for the best way to actually make one, the 2 vidoes I watched were a bit different, one the guy glued in a bit of fatter brass tube at the nib end & in the other they didnt, think there was also something about the size of the hole drilled through the blank & the way that was done, n one the guy drilled from both ends & in the other they drilled from the one end with a long series drill.
Measuring to get the right diameter isn't a problem, well it shouldn't be anyway, spent 20 years in the RN as a mechanical engineer & qualified as a fitter turner lol

Thanks.....I bought a book, Modified slimlines......
I drilled right through the blank with a colt drill bit, glued one tube in and just push fitted the other, turned then assembled. Yes you can add a bigger tube at the nib end the idea is to allow the other tube to rotate easier and support what could be a thin/fragile end( not done this )also the timber could move but I have not experienced any of that.20180217_175707.jpg
It's a great way to showcase the timber, I did these at an IOC demonstration.....also to show finishes ones CA ones melamine.

Nicely done.
Various kits can be used to make one piece pens.

Thanks for the replies, I was probably over thinking this when I first thought about doing it lol

Some very nice examples posted as well, hopefully one day my pens will look that good lol
