Thanks Gents
The bottle stopper was a nightmare, think I got the mixture wrong with the Acrylic as it was rock hard :goesred:
Problem with that is turning the acrylic needed pressure but to much and the pencils (that are very soft) just split open.
I think I lost 10mm off my chisel with that much sharpening :rolling:
Really please with the outcome though and the glow in the dark acrylic at the base shines right through the stopper highlighting the pencils.
Put this one up on my sons Page and it sold straight away :eeeeek:

Very pleased with the end result though and even more pleased it is going to a new home so quickly

Oh and the plaster on my thumb....
Thats what happens when you get your hand to close to the belt sander fine tuning your chisel :funny:

What acrylic do you use Colin? Mine never seems to go very hard for ages - stays tacky and can be "finger printed" for days. :sob:

I have now started using this stuff:
http://http://houseofresin.co.uk/alumilite-amazing-clear-cast-epoxy-resin-940ml-32-fl-oz-1-15kg/

Its a 50 x 50 Mix so you cant really go wrong.
Working time is about 10 to 15 min and so far the results have been really good.
The other syuff I used was a weigh and percetage of hardner and no matter what I did I could never get it just right :vangry:
