I returned home today to begin an 8 week lay about while my newly fused ankle heals. Both flat feet have collapsed to the point where I was bone on bone. At times the pain was crushing. 2 metal rods held in place with 4 screws. 4 more screws to get my foot bones into their proper place. At 71 years of age I now have something I have never had before. I have an arch in my right foot. After 8 weeks of NO WEIGHT BEARING I will begin who knows how many weeks of therapy. I may get to ride my new (last year) motorcycle by August. I will need to get the left foot corrected as well..

Stay safe, be healthy, smile every chance you get.

Terry

Terry, it sounds like you've been through a lot, but hoping that your operation is a great success, you are able to get back to doing all the things that give you pleasure and have a pain free future.

My heart felt best wishes go out to you Terry. You will get better, it just takes time. Believe me, I once spent 6 weeks in a bed on traction, I thought I would never get back to normal, but the staff and doctors were bloody brilliant.
Regards, Kelvin
